
The Filipino-American Association of Greater Birmingham (FAAGB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1989. The FAAGB provides members with opportunities for personal, spiritual, educational, and professional growth. We are a resource for Filipinos, Filipino-Americans, and Americans new to the Magic City, aiding with basic necessities, housing, education, employment, and/or a warm welcome. Furthermore, we strive to establish a united and influential membership committed to the betterment of the greater Filipino, Filipino-American, and American communities.
FAAGB activities are managed by core elected officers comprising the Executive Board, while a Board of Directors provides oversight of the organization’s general operations, properties, and finances of the Association. These governing bodies operate under state law and the FAAGB Constitution and Bylaws.
FAAGB offers its members numerous opportunities for personal growth and for cultivating a richer understanding of the Philippine culture, including its – history, language, folk dance, music, religious celebrations, and native cuisine. We strive to provide the means of promoting community and unity while preserving our unique cultural heritage.
FAAGB serves as a network for its members to interact and communicate with other professional, cultural and community organizations to achieve common goals beneficial to the greater Filipinos, Filipino-American, and American communities through social and charitable activities.
FAAGB provides the means to promote and advertise Filipino-owned businesses in the Magic City through social media and organizational publications leading to equal opportunities beneficial to the greater community.
